What is Gaia's Genesis?
Gaia's Genesis is a talent pool for actors, film crew, musicians, animators and graphic designers wanting to get into the film and television industry. Catering mainly for those residing in Adelaide and Melbourne, we do allow interstate and overseas members but they will need provide their own travel and accommodation for projects filmed in South Australia and Victoria due to financial constraints.
We are also currently looking to form our own production company with the assistance of those within the talent pool, focusing mainly on projects with a multicultural theme. Projects in the pipeline can be found here.
We now have over 110 actors and 40 production crew in our membership. If you would like cast and crew to help bring your project to life, please don't hesitate to contact us and we'll do what we can do help you.
Who runs Gaia's Genesis?
Due to the nature of Gaia's Genesis, it is run by several people with different skills and experiences.
Its founder and site administrator, Ching-Ling Lim, graduated from the University of South Australia in 2008 with a Bachelor of Media Arts, majoring in Film and TV Production. While her passion is in production, her main focus is as a scriptwriter in the crime/psychological thriller genre. She is also apt at sound design and is willing to work on outside projects which require a role in that area. She is also Level 5 Enrolled Nurse and will work as Medical Advisor on set if needed.
As our Sydney co-ordinator, Johannsenn Adder's skills lie in that of music composition where he works on various themes and music genres. He's more comfortable with electronic music but also experiments with rock, pop, jazz and orchestral. He recently completed a Bachelor of Education at the University of New England.
Who do you cater for?
We are currently on the lookout for actors and production crew members who live in Adelaide and Melbourne. It is hoped that, within the next year or so, a production house in Adelaide known as Crafty Lion Media will be established to create more job opportunities.
Our eventual aim is to become a multimedia enterprise which will incorporate music composers, game programmers and graphic designers. Seperate divisions for both Adelaide and Sydney will be set up to accomodate these areas. Adelaide will become the major Production House while Sydney will house the Interactive Media and Electronic Arts [music and gaming] division.
How long has Gaia's Genesis been running for?
Spawned in October 2004, we officially opened our doors on 1st January 2008.
