Although Rui Lin takes her work as a senior detective with the Major Crime Squad seriously, she is family orientated and will take the time to help younger sister Soo Lin and brother-in-law Simon when they need it. She is fit, obversant and ambitious, and has recently been promoted to the rank of Senior Sergeant.

N.B.:  The audition of Rui Lin Chen will also need to be tested against that of Kai Long to ascertain the best character relationship between the two.
